Rish Outcast 38: The Ugly Table (Part Two)

Okay, here's the rest of "The Ugly Table."  If the story IS offensive, as I have suspected, well, here's your chance to hear me apologize.  Or . . . tiptoe around apologizing, at least.

If you're NOT offended by it, well, feel free to let me know in the comments.

Feel freer to download the episode by Right-Clicking THIS LINK.

Music by Kevin McLeod of Incompetech.com.  And special thanks to good old Gino Moretto for the awesome Outcast logo above.  He does great work with no thought of reward, the bastard.

I'm so glad you mentioned that you re-wrote this piece. I remembered reading the story a few years ago, so I thought it was the lapse in memory on the details that caused me to misremember certain moments. I thought I was going crazy or frankly, had too many beers while reading it.

I think your critique on "Lost and Found" - how it ends abruptly - happened here for me. I like Spider as well, and I love the end paragraph, but I kind of wanted a segue into that ending.

It just occurred to me that you've been writing (or publishing at least - who knows how many stories you've written....) a lot of stories with child protagonists. Lovely Singing Voice, Birth of a Sidekick, Ugly Table, Quiddler's Menagerie...arguably The Calling and Unconventional and Say Uncle.....

You, uh, you want to talk about why you enjoy having the kids in danger or in horrific situations? Or is that The Topic that Dares Not Speak Its Reasons?

Oh man, you can only poke the bear so much... :-)
