Public Notice: Lost Dog

If you recall my life's philosophy, everything takes longer than you think that it will.  And that includes  writing stories, and finishing them, and rewriting, and finally, publishing.

But I got one done finally.  It's the most recent "Lost & Found" story, "The Case of the World's Oldest Dog," the series where Will Choner, the teen who can teleport, tries to find lost objects.

Will Choner and the Treasures Regained gang are hired by a wealthy man, Jordan Lamont, to find his lost dog, Geronimo. But while Will attempts to find the seemingly-immortal German Shepherd, Beth Reilly gets to know the dog's owner, and finds he has a story almost as strange as Will's own.

I have no idea if this will be the last Will Choner story I write (I did start on a sixth one, but abandoned it early on), but hey, you feel free to scoop it up HERE.

Missing Bracelet Found!

A year or so back, I posted that I was going to sit down and record "The Case of the Missing Bracelet," but the file was incomplete.  I ended up having to cobble it together from the daily blog posts I was saving to my old laptop, which I wrote at the cabin with no internet.  And by the time I had what I assumed was a complete file, I just went on to the next thing, not recording it at all.

But more than a year later, I sat down and got the work done, which didn't seem like so much work when it's something I care about, and the story is out and available.  It's another Lost & Found series story, and while it's the least consequential one, it at least let me catch up with Will Choner and Beth Vance ("...and the rest," as the song goes) for a bit, enough that I followed it up with a longer, more significant story, which I ought to put out soon.*

In this story, a sexy fellow student asks Bethany Reilly to have Treasures Regained track down her missing bracelet.  She may not be on the up and up, but of course Will Choner still goes after it.

I am loathe to promote my own stuff (when I get to Hell, I will probably be assigned as a publicist to someone like Justin Bieber or Kid Rock or Kanye West, and I dread that as much as the whole fire and brimstone and verbally-abusive demons aspect of the afterlife), but feel free to go to THIS LINK and grab a copy of it.  Or don't . . . some bracelets weren't meant to be found.

*But probably won't.

Lost & Found Series (in progress)

Alright, so I finally published something.  I had set a goal to get two things published this month, and I waited until the end before even TRYING to get something up there.*  Finally, though, I published "But Now I'm Found," the novella in my Will Choner/"Lost & Found" series.  And since I put out the last book, Kindle Direct Publishing has created a Series tracker on their site, where you as an author can let people know which books or stories are in which series.

And I realized I'd never published the second story in the run, "The Case of the Runaway Turtle," which introduces Will's friend Marcellus Fonseca.  So, I guess I ought to put that out there too (I did run it on the Outcast, a year or two back).

Here's the story order, by the way:

1.  Lost & Found (novella)

2.  The Case of the Runaway Turtle (short story)

3.  But Now I'm Found (novella)

4.  The Case of the Missing Bracelet (short story--unpublished)

5.  The Case of the World's Oldest Dog (novella--unpublished)

I hope that, once Big gets back to his regular schedule, he can get these covers looking more presentable.**  Of course, I could do a lot more to make them a priority, but hey, I haven't checked Facebook in fifteen minutes.

*I keep using the fact that I'm not happy with my cover images as an excuse not to do it, when you can literally use something like this on Amazon:

**Hey, he got back to me, with some cool covers:

Unfortunately, the photo for one of them wasn't the right one, and I probably won't publish "Bracelet" until February or March, but they already look both better and more uniform than the ones I was using.  Thanks, Big!

Rish Outcast 179: The Case of the Missing Turtle

 Inspired by true events!

So, this is the mini-sequel to my story "Lost & Found," presented on the Outcast HERE and HERE.

It was also the subject of a That Gets My Goat episode where Big and I talked about (and to) Orson Scott Card HERE.

Rish Outcast 129: Lost and Found (Part II)

In this episode, I share the second half of "Lost and Found," picking up with Armin and Will leaving Mr. Kassad's office.  Once again, I sum up my ideas for a sequel, and explain where the inspiration came from.

I also talk about Anne Frank, Samuel L. Jackson, and Abraham Van Helsing.  What more could you ask, Pia Zadora?

Rish Outcast 128: Lost and Found (Part I)

A few months back, I ran a show called "But Now I'm Found,"  where I talked (extensively) about my story "Lost & Found," and speculated about a sequel. To my surprise, I hadn't actually run "Lost & Found" on the podcast, so that same day, I recorded this episode.

Timely, huh?

Will Choner is a boy with an unusual ability, but a dangerous one, one forbidden by his mother. Can his uncle persuade them to let him use the power, if it's for a good cause?

Rish Outcast 119: But Now I'm Found

In this episode, I talk about finding someone's purse, someone's keys, and someone's breaking point.

Unfortunately, I refer (extensively) to my story "Lost and Found" in this show.  I totally thought I had run that on the Outcast a year or two ago, but when I did a search for it, it didn't come up.  I sincerely apologize (and nearly decided to postpone this episode and just not have a show this week), but if you want to check it out, the text version is HERE and the audio version is HERE.

Guess I know what story I'll do an episode for tonight.

The next episode will be better, I promise.*

Alright, download this sucker directly by Right-Clicking HERE.

*Seriously, though, this is a solid ep.  You could do a hell of a lot worse than this episode.  Hey, you HAVE done a hell of a lot worse.
